Mushin Karate is headed up by Gerry Freeman Sensei (4th Dan JKA).
Gerry began training at the age of 42, alongside his daughters Ashleigh and Samantha in Waroona Dojo.
After achieving his Shodan in YEAR, Gerry began teaching and eventually took over the dojo in YEAR after the retirement of Anton Bombara Sensei.
In 2023, Gerry and daughter Ashleigh opened the Cockburn Dojo, located in Bibra Lake.
In 2025, Gerry & Ashleigh were privileged to be invited to take on the KUA Hilton dojo, which has operated since 1985. Established by Hanshi Carl Marriot 8th Dan, who was the KUA Chief Instructor until his passing in May 2014. The dojo continued to run under his three children, Chief Instructor Todd Marriott 5th Dan, Sensei Kim Benn 4th Dan and Sensei Karie Morton 3rd Dan. We are grateful to the Marriott family for their contribution to the WA karate community and look forward to the continuing success of the Hilton Dojo under JKA-SKC Australasia.
